Holiday Club: From The Associate Vicar...

This year at Holiday Club we have been diving into the goodness of God – exploring moments of Jesus' life and stories that he told. As we have explored the waters, we heard of Jesus' Baptism, his parable of the pearl and Peter the disciple walking on water. We heard of the goodness of God as Jesus washed his disciples’ feet before sharing his final meal with them. And finally we heard of God’s forgiveness for us through Jesus forgiving Peter by the side of the lake.

We have sung songs, created crafts, played sports and games and made so many memories. It has been a real highlight in the churches year together. Special thanks should go to Rosie Blackett who, though she has finished as children’s minister, was instrumental in the planning of this year’s spectacular event. Thanks as well go to everyone who made this week the special event that it has been.

Holiday Club Thank You
A massive thank you to all the volunteers at this years holiday club. You made it a really memorable time for all the children who came.

Thank you from Rosie
A huge thank you to everyone for my send off last Sunday. I was overwhelmed by the love, appreciation and care shown to me. Thank you for the many kind words spoken, prayers said and huge volume of cards. Thank you to all the families who sent photos of their children and youth, including many taken from holiday destinations, and the team who put the video together. Thank you for the cakes, gifts and for all the organisation that went into doing all of these things. I feel blown away by your outpouring of love and I will very much miss being part of All Saints. For those who asked to keep in touch, my email address is rosieblackett@hotmail.com. I will miss not being at Holiday Club this week, as I move house, but will be praying.

11am Services During August
Our 11am services will be All Age Services in order to give our brilliant Sunday group and Creche volunteers a well-deserved break. The Creche will be put up in the welcome area each week but it will be unmanned, so you will need to stay with your baby if you would like to make use of it.

Toddler Coffee Rota
The rota for the Autumn term is now up in church on the children and youth board near the kitchen. Please do consider whether you could help serve our community by volunteering once a month to help with refreshments. Whilst we don't have a Children's Minister we will only be running Toddlers on Mondays and Tuesdays. Thank you for your understanding.

Autumn Dates Leaflet
There will be more copies of the new dates leaflet at the back of church this Sunday - please collect one. Dates are also on our website calendar below, as usual:

Churchyard Work Morning
A huge note of thanks to all who came along to help the churchyard team last Saturday. It was a great encouragement to the team to be able to strim and clear a very large section - and one of the most difficult to deal with at that! Other tasks were tackled too - a very good morning's work!
The small team is at work every Tuesday morning from 9.30 to around 12.30, summer and winter, except in very wet or icy conditions. Do consider joining us on a regular basis.

St. Peter and St. Oswald Church Graft
It was recently announced that Simon will be the new Priest in Charge at St. Peter and St. Oswald’s, Abbeydale, from January 2026. Over the next 6-months he will be assembling a small graft team to come and share in the revitalisation of the church.

There will be two open meetings on Sunday 14th September, 3pm-4:30pm and Monday 15th September, 7:30pm-9pm in church for anyone who would like to find out more about the graft, whether in order to pray for this initiative, and/or because you might be interested in joining the graft team. The meetings are repeated so there is no need to come to both. If you would like to chat to Simon beforehand to find out more please email simon.oatridge@allsaintsecclesall.org.uk

Mission Prayers

Milan and Shusma from the Aanandit Charity Centre in Nepal

Please pray for Milan and Shusma as they return from their annual trip to Ichthus’ Revive camp and also a visit to Ireland. Their work continues to flourish and two particular prayer points are:

  • Aanandit Charity plans to assist at least five small businesses initiated by young adults, particularly those who have received skill development training through their programmes. These ventures include a café, a mobile repair shop, a beauty parlour, a motorcycle workshop, and a tailoring centre. We pray for God's provision and guidance in these endeavours. They have supported four businesses in past few months.

  • Support for Young Women’s Education Please pray for the young women in their hostel—that God will provide the necessary funds for their technical education. They are also planning to establish a university education fund starting in 2026 to support these young women as they pursue their big dreams. May God guide and provide for this vision and the ongoing work amongst young girls. They also have two girls in the hostel and one in the children’s home in need of sponsorship.
