Volunteer With Us: Reader

The role of a reader is to read aloud scripture passages from the lectern. The reading will be sent to you, so all you’ll need to do is turn up and read!

Your Main Responsibilities:

• Read through the chosen passage before attending the service to familiarise yourself, and ask the service leader if you’re unsure on any words or names.

• Read the passage clearly and confidently to the congregation.

Readers are part of a rota, meaning you can put your name forward as little or as often as possible. We do expect volunteers to commit to attending when they’re on the rota, or finding themselves a replacement if their availability changes.

No particular training is required, but support can be provided from experienced readers and Ministry Staff.
