Volunteer With Us: Churchyard

The Churchyard Team are a friendly, green-fingered group of volunteers who work year-round to keep our churchyard looking beautiful!

Your Main Responsibilities:

• Strimming & raking long grass through spring and summer

• Cutting back hedges

• Pruning trees

• Emptying bins

• Maintaining equipment

• Organising strimmer servicing

• Keeping stock of consumables e.g. petrol & strimmer chord

• Maintaining bird boxes

• Managing contractors as required

• Liasing with Ops Manager on any issues

• Attending the quarterly Estates Committee Meeting

• Any other tidying as required

This role is very flexible, there is no rota as such but there are coordinators who oversee the team.

The team normally work every Tuesday between 9.15am and 12.15pm, based at the old Sextons hut.

Training is only required for use of strimmers, otherwise newer recruits are guided by experienced team members.
